Jury Award

The Jury Award – donated by Studentenwerk Halle and endowed with 500€ – goes to Christian Asmussen and Matthias Bruhn for their animation film Post! from Germany. The jury was enthused by the lovely drawing of the whole movie and a strong emotional expression by the characters.

Innovation Award

The new Shortmoves Innovation Award – endowed with 250€ – goes to Chema García Ibarra for The attack of the robots from Nebula-5 from Spain.

We gratulate all winners of the awards. All winners will be notified about the further procedure to hand over the prizes.

Schedule

You can get an overview about the 24 short movies we’ll be showing in our Shortmoves 2009 program. In the program you see which movies will be screened on which day of the festival and the movies are sorted based on their screening order.

Beginning at 8.15pm the doors will open in the Lux.Kino am Zoo and the program will start at 8.30pm. All visitors will receive a ballot paper for the evening which will be used to find the winner of the people’s choice award.

Endowment Doubled

We’re happy to announce the raise of the endowment for the jury- and people’s choice award to 500€ for each one. So all film makers can look forward to the doubled sum in case of winning. The awards were donated by Studentenwerk Halle (jury award) and Motionworks (people’s choice award).

We thank our numerous sponsors and partners for giving us the opportunity to introduce a new award and for doubling the endowment for the other awards.

Program Shortmoves 2009

We received a lot of breathtaking submissions from a large variety of countries, like Germany, Iran, Switzerland, Israel, USA, Canada, Mexico, Spain, France, Austria, Turkey, Romania, Portugal, Denmark or Great Britain. Our jury members have selected the best 24 short films from these submissions for viewing on the big cinema screen in September.

With a total screening time of three months this turned out to be an interesting and surprising venture. The selected short movies represent a big spectrum of genres and offer a great variety for the Jury and above all the visitors of the festival. We thank all movie makers for the many high quality submissions, which made the final selection even harder.

An overview of all 24 short movies is now online in its final version. In the program you see which movies will be screened on which day of the festival and the movies are sorted based on their screening order.

Ticket Booking

If you want to be sure to experience these movies in a comfortable Lux.Kino cinema chair, you can now book your tickets online. Just fill out the short form on our ticket page und you’ve saved your seat. The booked tickets have to be picked up at the box office in the Lux.Kino am Zoo.

Please note you have to pick up your booked tickets by the corresponding festival evenings until 7.30pm. Otherwise they will be sold at the box office.
